NAPA 9-ball Pro rules are the same as standard NAPA 9-ball rules with the following exceptions:
- Racking: The object balls (1-ball through 9-ball) are to be racked as tightly as possible in a diamond shape, with the 1-ball at the apex of the diamond and on the foot spot, the 9-ball in the center of the diamond and the 2-ball at the rear point of the rack. All other balls must be placed in the diamond in random order without purposeful or intentional pattern.
- Local League Operators have the option to require that the 9-ball be racked on the foot spot instead of the 1-ball. The 1-ball would still remain at the apex of the diamond rack, however, the 9-ball would be placed on the spot instead of the 1-ball.
- Local League Operators can also establish a "break from the box" rule as used in high level pool.
- 9-ball on break does not count as a win - 9-ball spots immediately - breaker keeps shooting.
- Alternating breaks. No Rackless Match Bonus Point.
- You can’t cheese the 9-ball for the win. It must be the last ball to drop in order to win.
- You can, however, purposely pocket the 9-ball (by CALLING it) and keep shooting as long as you shoot the lowest numbered ball on the table first. After performing this shot, 9-ball spots immediately, and shooter keeps shooting.
- Rack your own.
- Players will have a completely separate CueSpeed 9-Ball Pro Rating for this format.
9-BALL OPTION
- If, while shooting at the 9-ball, the 9-ball falls into any pocket OTHER than the called pocket, the opponent has the option to play the 9-ball or hand the shot back to the original shooter.
THREE-FOUL RULE OPTION
- The NAPA local league operator has the right to enable the three-foul rule option in 9-ball Pro leagues. The three-foul rule causes a player to lose the game being played if the player commits three consecutive fouls without making a legal shot in between those fouls.
- The non-shooter must verbally announce and inform the shooter that he/she has committed their 2nd foul before the 3rd foul can be called for a loss of rack.
- If the non-shooter fails to notify the shooter of their 2nd foul the 3-Foul Win can not be taken and all fouls must reset back to zero (0) for the shooter.
- Committing a foul on the break is considered the first foul.
- If three-foul rule option is enabled for your league, shooters gain one bonus point on their score card for each game they win by the three-foul rule in their matches.
